 Maybe it's just me, or my browser, but it seems like perhaps these boards have been completely overrun by some chinese ad-bot thingie. Serves me right for checking up on things after an entire year has gone by, but still...it's like seeing not only your dead friend's corpse when you stop in for a surprise visit, but your dead friend's corpse being consumed by maggots...it's sad.

Yep,
"Dead" message boards are often taken up by solicitors and other advertising/spam agents.
Sometimes, I think, the HTML code comes out garbled.
Either way, I agree that it is obnoxious.
