So I changed my major today, right. They give me this folder to take over to my new college and such. The guy at the counter is processing it - he flips through it, something I didn't bother to do because I've looked at it before and it was boring. Except I see a newspaper clipping, it's an orange and black picture, says "& Places" above it. I was almost certain what it was, but I wanted to get back to my room first. I take my "Group seeks hugs, debate over views" article off my fridge and flip it over, sure enough, it was a picture of a fire from the riots a few years back, cropped right at the "&" in "People & Places."
So, why the hell did they cut out this article and put it in my academic folder?

!!!!
Are you SURE you saw it?
If so, I'd say call them and ask why its there.

I'm possitive I saw it. I was able to read the back clear as day, it was exactly what's on the back of the article. "Hi, I just changed my major and I was wondering why the university had a copy of an article about me being an atheist in my record folder." If it was anything less-inidicitive of a proper university, I'd never get a real answer. It's just left up for my paranoid suspicions.

Jason, don't let this go. What reason would there possibly be for them to have this in your file? Do they keep copies of articles of persons in christian or jewish groups?
If they give you a reasonable answer, such as any article where a student figures prominently is clipped and filed, no matter the topic, then you should let it go. (Nevermind that it's a big issue as to why the university should care to do this period.)
I'd personally like to hear their justification for this.

Fair enough, I'll see what I can do.

Quick! Someone call BEN MATLOCK! Hmm...they've probably got that letter I sent into the state news about the study that found people driving stoned were actually less likely to cause accidents than people driving drunk AND people driving sober. Oh well, at least I'm educating a small elite cabal of educational conspirators.
