personally, I like the point made concerning transubstantiation -- if it ends up as the body of X, then does it matter what the original incarnation was?
While the point can be made that the church did try to accomodate therm, it should be obvious to the general scientific community by this point in time that the wafer only METAPHORICALLY warps into a long-dead-alleged-savior-of-the-world, and the concept of drawing oneself closer to his holy everlasting spirit is more important than whether he makes a good Wheaties substitute. The important point in the church's eyes should be whether you're a penitent, faithful, moral Xtian.
I preferred Methodism, where we had nice, tasty bread, as oppose to the cardboard wafer. Jesus should be flavorful, right?
