This makes me so angry... I don't see anything wrong with the idea of faith-based health care as long as there are the normal alternatives. But if the faith-based programs were to become the majority?? The idea terrifies me. This country was founded on basic freedoms, and they are slowly being restricted without most people even noticing. I understand that Catholic doctors and such have to do what they think is morally right, but there must always be a way for people to get the full health care they deserve, including reproductive issues. Also, institutions recieving government funding should be able to provide whatever is needed, meaning that even if they have some doctors who are very religious and will refuse to do certain things, there should be others there who will do those things. Institutions that are entirely faith based should be private.

Aside from the copius amount of church/state issues raised by this latest trend, I spare not a tear for a single person in these fields. There are known aspects to EVERY job, and in most cases, there are alternatives if you don't agree with the job description they push across the desk.
If you're against BCP and MAP, then DON'T BECOME A PHARMACIST. If you're against providing emergency contraception as either a doctor or other medical staff, DON'T WORK IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM. If you're against abortions (no matter the situation), DON'T PROVIDE THEM.
There are alternatives to all of these. You can have a private practice, you can be a pharmacist in a catholic hospital, or you can work outside of the hospital. If it's a moral ground you stand against your workplace on, then your alternative is to resign and go where it won't be an issue.
No different than the whiny little parent groups who always get riled up when the newest South Park/Family Guy/Simpsons kind of show comes along. Vote with your remote, fool.
